not the best place to stay in Belgium?Gent there is more to do or Evan Antwerp?you will need accommodation?and fed also pocket money is there not a student exchange at your school ?

Indeed, it's better if you'd stay in a Flemish city as in the Walloon part, they mostly only speak French... I'd say that with accommodations and food you'll be looking at 700 to 1000 euro...
