Is Ukkel a good place to live in Belgium? I'm looking for a safe, middle class leafy suburban place near Brussels with good transport links.

yes it is! i lived there for over a year and it has all you mention:it's safe, nice(lots of parks) and perfect transport! go for it!! oh, it's so clean too! well, comparing to other areas! i miss uccle/ukkel!!

Ukkel (or Uccle its French spelling) is exactly what you describe. Frequency of transport depends on which part of Ukkel you live , try www.stib.be for local transport schedules and maps. I have lived in a neighbourhood next to ukkel for 6 years.
