Is it cheap to live in Seoul? (South-Korea)?
Hi! I was considering moving to Seoul, South Korea. But I am absolutely clueless to the point how much everything costs over there. I lived 2 years in Thailand, and to be honest it was really cheap compared to the rest of the world. I myself live in Belgium where everything is expensive. Im just wondering If Seoul is as cheap as Thailand, or at least cheaper than other countries.. How much would it cost to rent a place or to buy food. Thanks a lot everybody!

Seoul is one of the most expensive cities to live in the world. Renting a place can be cheap or very expensive depending on the neighborhood you are looking for. South Korea is one of the world's largest economies so you can't compare it with the cost of living with a developing country like Thailand. If you want to live like a dirt poor peasant, I'm sure you can find a small run down one room place to rent and eat off of food carts on the streets. However, on average, the cost of living is relatively high, especially compared to other places in Asia. You should be comparing Seoul's cost of living to Japan rather than Thailand
